Tree topology is a specific kind of network topology in which all of the various devices in the network are connected to a Central Hub or from there root node,It should atleast have three levels of hierarchy.
- It used in wide area network.
- Ideal if workstations are located in groups.
Advantages of Tree topology:
Disadvantages of Tree Topology:
- Easy to add and remove nodes.
- It can be use for large networks.
- Extension of bus and star topologies.
- Easily managed and maintained.
- Root node act as server.
- Huge cabling is needed.
- Costly due to there cabling.
- A lot of maintenance is needed.
- If herirchy is increased then maintinance cost will also high
