Star topology
Star topology is a specific kind of network topology in which all of the various devices in the network are connected to a Central Hub.
It can use twisted pair, Optical Fibre or coaxial cable for connnected through root node which acts as server for all other nodes.
Advantages of tree topology:
- Easy to add and remove nodes.
- It can be use for large networks.
- Central hub can be upgrade easly.
- Easy to find problems.
- Fast performance and few nodes and low traffic consation.
- A lot of maintenance is needed.
- Backbone forms the point of failure.
- Expensive to use.
- Performance is based on the hub that is it depends on its capacity
